SY Melika - Jeanneau Melody

In a word - awesome!

Melika is a Jeanneau Melody, designed by Andre Mauric and first produced in 1978.  We purchased her in 1998 and set about improving and restoring her ready for some serious long term cruising.

She is an excellent heavy weather cruising boat, with good speed and amazing strength and tenacity.  She inspires confidence from the moment you set foot on her.

She was launched in 1981 and celebrated her 21st birthday in 2002 while we cruised the Caribbean.  She is still going from strength to strength.

She has proved herself to be a brilliant cruising and live-aboard yacht.  She has unorthodox looks and, I think most people would agree, is not immediately an attractive boat.

But, as with the greatest loves, her character and strength comes out as you get to know her.  We have shared some amazing adventures aboard her and our appreciation of her design and capabilities keeps growing.

She has excellent accommodation with two double cabins, a large saloon, reasonable sized galley and chart table, and very good storage in the huge cockpit locker and lazerette.

We have done extensive work to prepare her for this voyage, mostly related to the tired and worn-out fittings that need renovating or replacing.
